What query arguments do you support?

We support two primary categories of query arguments: Query Vetting and Query Research.

Query Vetting:

These arguments help you find a specific decedent record. You can search using the following criteria:

• By Social Security Number: Directly input the SSN to retrieve a specific record.
• By Name & Date of Birth:
  • Last Name. First Name (optional) and Date of Birth.
  • Last Name, First Name (optional), Last Name Suffix, and Date of Birth.

Query Research:

These arguments allow you to retrieve multiple records based on specific criteria:

• By Name & Year:
  • Last Name, First Name (optional), and Year of Birth.
  • Last Name, First Name (optional), and Year of Death.
• By Name & Date Range:
  • Last Name, First Name (optional), and a Date of Birth Range.
  • Last Name, First Name (optional), Date of Birth Range, and Year of Death.

Wildcard Searches: When using First Name as a query argument, you can utilize wildcards. For instance, a search for 'Ruth*' could yield results for both 'Ruth' and 'Ruthie'.
